Welcome to OwlyCheck. We built this extension to help you write better, and we also believe privacy is fundamental. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and handle data when you use the OwlyCheck Chrome Extension.

1. What data do we collect?

OwlyCheck needs access to the text you type in your browser to work as a spelling and grammar checker.

• Text content: We read text from public input fields and text areas on the websites you visit while the extension is enabled.
• What we do not collect: We do not read, collect, or transmit text from password fields (type="password"). We do not track browsing history, IP address, device information, or personal identity. We do not use cookies or analytics trackers.

2. How do we use your data?

We use your text only to provide the core functionality of the extension: detecting and highlighting spelling and grammar mistakes.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or training AI models.

3. How do we share your data?

To perform grammar and spelling checks, the text you write is securely transmitted via HTTPS strictly to our designated third-party service provider:

• LanguageTool: We use the LanguageTool API (api.languagetoolplus.com) to analyze your text. LanguageTool processes the text to return corrections and does not store your text after processing is complete.

We never sell, rent, or share your data with data brokers, advertisers, or other third parties.

4. Limited Use Policy

OwlyCheck adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

The data we process is used exclusively to provide the spelling and grammar checking service.
